Just Can't Get Into It....
I seriously can't get into Hallowen this year. I know! Me! The , whom with the help of my friend got our husbands to build a fake coffin to line with plastic so we could put drinks in for a party. I loved that thing...sadly it was sacrificed during the move. I love the candy, the trick or treating, the zombies and ghouls wandering the streets, but this year...I just can't do it. Perhaps I am too busy concetrating on work, or that I've just given up on my kids going door to door in cute little costumes. Is something wrong with me...well moreso than usual of course. Instead I want to concentrate on Thanksgiving. The 3 F's!!! Food, Family and Friends! I love to cook and spend all day in the kitchen...especially when someone else does the dishes!!! Making turkey with stuffing is truly one of my favorite things. We'll see what happens this year. I've got grand plans...Now I simply need to make sure I don't work!!! We'll see what happens!!!

Okay what about celebrating Halloween on a smaller scale? Like filling a candy dish with candy corn and taking it to work with you, and letting co-workers have a treat?
Or buying frosted cupcakes for the family as a treat for after dinner? Did you know Papa Murphys' has a promotoinal pizza for $7.99 that has all the pepperonis in the shape of a Jack O Lantern? pretty cool stuff!
You don't have to go all out to just enjoy a fun little holiday...start small.
I started a little small like you advised. I made a batch of peanut butter popcorn and bundled it up for a bake sale to raise some money for Children's Miracle Network. I also sat down relaxed and watched the CHarlie Brown Halloween special. You're right...a little goes a long way!!!
Halloween has gone from a simple holiday to a whole season with tons of activities and expectations. It makes me tired too.
I like the 'try a few small things'. I think the 'Simplify' thing we all talk about with Christmas can be applied to Halloween too!
I love "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!"...Sally rules!
I totally understand what you're talking about. This year is the first Halloween in 3 years that I wanted to get into it. I had too much stuff in my mind to get into Halloween.
